Blue Muse Publishing Inc is an Illinois Corporation that is primarily focused on providing a web based community for the independent promotion of music professionals. In addition to the independent promotion opportunities offered online, Blue Muse will extend limited promotional and publishing opportunities to select individuals and/or groups who have musical collateral. In some cases, promotion may include securing co-publishing deals with larger publishing companies.

Blue Muse Philosophy and General Policy

BlueMusePublishing.com is owned by Blue Muse Publishing, Inc and is intended to provide accessible and affordable resources to songwriters, bands, musicians, singers, and music industry professionals.

BlueMusePublishing.com will offer opportunities for artists to grow and promote themselves while adhering to the laws governing intellectual property, despite the risk of losing potential clients.

Blue Muse Publishing Inc is available to all, regardless of fundamental beliefs. It is our policy to uphold and protect the rights of our members in direct accordance with the laws of the United States of America, despite the risk of losing potential clients.

Blue Muse Publishing Inc shall not disclose/publish personal information without express written consent from it's members and/or when members elect to provide this information on their web page. Blue Muse Publishing Inc will not purposefully provide e-mail addresses to third parties. However, members may elect to publish their personal e-mail address on their web page.

Blue Muse Publishing Inc does not collect financial information from it's BlueMusePublishing.com members. This information is collected outside of BlueMusePublishing.com at the sole discretion of each member. Transactions through most online payment services such as PayPal are encrypted and secure.

BlueMusePublishing.com will be available to all genres and classifications of music but will apply a reasonable standard against subversive, indecent and offensive materials, despite the risk of losing potential clients.

BlueMusePublishing.com shall provide infrastructure for artists to promote themselves. In addition, BlueMusePublishing.com shall offer premium membership that will allow artists to sell their own digital downloads and merchandise. Premium artists can set up online payment service accounts such as PayPal that will allow them to be compensated directly for purchases online. In this case, 10% of the gross amount shall be witheld by BlueMusePublishing.com. The 10% shall be refundable pending proof of ownership of all rights and freedom from associated licensing fees by member/artist. Artists may set pricing at or above $.90 US dollars per digital download under 5 minutes in length. Artists can elect to have all online payments received and disbursed by BlueMusePublishing.com on request. All payments and refunds shall otherwise be made to Artists quarterly for digital downloads and merchandise exceeding $10.00. An account payable for any Artist under $10.00 shall be automatically rolled into the next quarter. Transaction fees for credit card and online payment services such as PayPal shall be automatically deducted by the respective credit card or online payment service company. Sale and delivery of merchandise shall be the sole responsibility of the artist. Deductions, reporting, and remission of applicable sales tax shall be the sole responsibility of the artist. Failure of a artist to meet their own agreed Terms and Conditions of merchandise sales shall result in a potential assessment of penalities to cover all expenses incurred by Blue Muse Publishing Inc and possible exclusion from further BMP membership, both pending demonstration of a valid Buyer claim against Seller.

Members of BlueMusePublishing.com shall disclose the origin of all materials that are offered for sale. Acknowledging each source of intellectual property shall be the sole burden of the member. Blue Muse Publishing.com and Blue Muse Publishing Inc shall be indemnified and held harmless for any failure on the part of a member to disclose an owner, writer or cowriter for any image or work that is offered for sale on the BlueMusePublishing.com website. Blue Muse Publishing, Inc shall select a single songwriter to receive the annual Blue Muse Songwriter of the Year Award. This artist shall be selected based on the quality and quantity of original songs and the online ratings. Aside from the ratings, the quality of songs will be judged based on melody, structure, lyrics, relevance, and appeal. The artist shall also be selected based on quantity of musical collateral. Ratings for individual songs shall be given consideration for the overall selection. This contest is based solely on merit and does not have any contractual stipulations. However, a contract may be offered to the winner as with any other artist. This contest is not intended to create income for Blue Muse Publishing by way of entry fees. Over time, the intent is to build credibility and prestige based on the ensuing success of any artist recipient. The proof shall be in the pudding.
